Background

The ADA Nevada Project started in 1994 as a training initiative grant funded by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities to assist with the implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Currently, the project relies on small grants and contracts and fee for service agreements on a regional level. Through direct training, technical assistance, site reviews, plan reviews, and information dissemination the project serves individuals with disabilities, public and private agencies, and the general community.

The project continues to be seen as one of the lead programs that address accessibility issues and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as other civil rights laws.
